1. Still in Colorado Springs

At the end of October, Pikes Peak had its first snow (as seen from our back porch) and we took our house off the market after having only four showings since early June. Barb is currently thinking of putting it back on the market after the holidays. Maybe in February. We’ll see if the market thaws some by then..

2. I have Three New Devotional Releases on the Free YouVersion App FOR THIS MONTH

The free YouVersion celebrated their ONE BILLIONTH worldwide download in November. I have published several devotionals with them. Over the last year, those devotionals saw over 13,000 subscribers in 148 countries. Outside of the U.S. the greatest number of subscribers live in South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, Nigeria, Philippines, Australia, India, Kenya, and Singapore.

This last month three new devotionals released, two of them just in time for the Christmas and Advent season:

  1. What the Bible Says About Advent – 29 Days of Advent Meditations click here.

    • These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion.
  1. What the Bible Says About Christmas – 31 Days of Meditations: click here.

    • Created by Dr. Walt Larimore, this 31-day daily devotional is designed to start on December 1 of each year and to continue just past New Year’s Day. It consists only of Bible verses about Christ’s birth as revealed in God’s Word and in the lyrics of Handel’s Messiah. It will encourage you in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior.

  • Calling Abba: 30 Days of Bible-Based Prayers (Month 1): click here.
    • “Calling Abba” contains 30 brief Bible-based prayers demonstrating how I pray Scripture each day to experience a deeper relationship with my heavenly Father. As you join me, I pray that you might savor the presence of the One who understands you perfectly and loves you forever and that you’ll increasingly be able to listen to, hear, receive, and then apply the small, quiet voice of Abba’s Spirit into and through your words and work, your lips and life, and actions and deeds, every day.

Three other devotionals you might consider for next year:

  1. What the Bible Says About – Volume 1 – 12-months of Daily Devotions: click here,
  2. What the Bible Says About –  Volume 2 – 6-months of Daily Devotions: click here.
  3. What the Bible Says About Thanksgiving, Rejoicing, Generosity, and Blessings – 30 days of Devotions: click here,

ALSO COMING IN 2026 – Two 45-day devotionals on the Nicene Creed:

  1. I’m currently writing a 45-day devotion, “Discovering the Ancient Faith That Anchors Christianity – 45 devotions through the Nicene Creed.”
  2. For the Lenten season, I’ve finished writing another 45-Day Devotion, “A Lenten Journey to the Cross. 45 Days from Ash Wednesday to Easter through the Nicene Creed” that is in review for a release before Ash Wednesday 2026.

4. Two New Book Contracts

Well, actually, one in the hand and one “in the bush”:

  1. The Creed: 35 Devotions Through our Ageless Faith (tentative title) has been contracted with Whitaker House; however, I’ve already been hard at work since September writing this devotional based upon 35 phrases from the The Nicene Creed, which is celebrating its 1700th birthday this year. I’ve never enjoyed researching and writing a book as much as this one. We not a single person to buy a copy, it’s been well worth the several hundred hours I’ve spent working on it. My faith has been immensely deepened.
  2. Last months, I told you another major publisher is considering my proposal for a prayer devotional: Calling Abba: 365 Days to Finding the Closeness to God You Always Wanted. I’m hoping to know more in the next month or so.

I’d appreciate your prayers for both of these projects as they represent a new direction in my writing about which I’m very excited.

6. Last Month’s Happenings

  • Oct 28-Nov 4, we flew back to Decatur, GA, to spend time with Scott, Jen, and the granddaughters – and to be at our oldest granddaughter, Katherine’s high school senior night. What great fun.
  • Nov 18-25, we were back at our favorite beach, Pensacola Beach, to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary. We had absolutely wonderful weather and a delightful time as Barb’s sister, Sue, her brother, Greg, and his wife, Jackie, and son, Scott, and his daughters (our “grands”), Katherine and Sarah all spent time with us during the week.

  • Nov 25-Dec 2, Barb’s sister, Sue, drove us back with her to Baton Rouge to spend Thanksgiving with other family and friends. It was a very restful and relaxing time for us. We’ve committed to spend two weeks at the beach twice during 2026.
