Overcoming

You have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome. … I have had a great struggle, and I have won.

They have greatly oppressed me from my youth, but they have not gained the victory over me. … I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “LORD, save me!” … But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten. … They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD. … “To save you.”

The Messiah, the Son of the living God. … On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. … The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. … Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. … The word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. … For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. … I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
