Phil was surprised that he didn’t get to see Marilyn as often as he thought he would, even though they lived close to each other.[1]
Air travel was taking off after the war, and Marilyn was busiest from Thursdays to Sundays [as a stewardess].
When she was in town on weekends between flight assignments, they attended horse shows, participated in foxhunts, or enjoyed rides with Chug and a horse that Marilyn’s father had purchased for her and was stabling at Fort Myer.[2]
