Phil also attended his first reunion with some Army buddies at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, where he met up with a bunch of friends from the 326th Glider troop.[1]
Phil had trained with them but never fought with them. Their time together was meaningful.
After returning from North Carolina, he had his final surgery, with the surgeon writing:
Because of painful neuroma of the sciatic nerve, an excision of same was performed 27 February 1946; recovery was uneventful.[1]
