February 18, 2026I have another new devotional that is available for free on-line at the YouVersion App. It’s titled, A 47-Day Lenten Journey to the Cross Through the Nicene Creed.” It’s designed for daily use from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday.
This new, free, on-line devotional, contains 47 short Bible-based devotionals that will guide you through the Nicene Creed (an over 1700-year-old confession of Christian faith) during Lent.
Each day, from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday, explore a phrase of the Creed alongside carefully selected Bible verses that illuminate its truth.
Designed for reflection and spiritual growth, this devotional connects ancient doctrine with Scripture, deepening your understanding of God’s nature, Christ’s work, and the Holy Spirit’s presence.
While crafted for Lent, it can be used any time to journey through this timeless creed to and beyond the crucifixion. Embrace prayerful meditations and biblical insights led by words spoken by millions of Christians before you.

Dr. Walt,
I am truly enjoying revisiting the Nicene Creed thru the Holy Bible app. Is there any way to obtain a written copy?
Or, can you recommend a printed copy of the creed that is similar to the devotional in the app?
Thank you,
Cheryl Gillespie
Hello Cheryl,
I’m happy to hear about you joy in revisiting the Nicene Creed through my Lenten devotional on the YouVersion app (http://bible.us/r/HLt). The good news is that it will be out in an expanded book version, tentatively titled, “The Creed: 35 Devotions for Understanding and Living the Authentic Christian Faith.” The bad new is that will not be out until late this year or early 2027. But keep an eye out on my blogs. I’ll let y’all know as soon as it’s out. In the meantime, blessings on this journey. And be sure to share it with family, friends, and your faith community.
