1) The Best Gift releases November 16

I’m so excited to announce that the second book about our family’s journey in the then-small town of Kissimmee, Florida, The Best Gift: Tales of a Small-Town Doctor Learning Life’s Greatest Lessonsreleases Tuesday, November 16.

When #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber, who has sold 200 million books and had seven of them made into Hallmark Hall of Fame movies, speaks about a new book, I suspect folks will listen. Below you can read her wonderful Foreword. I’ve over the moon grateful to Debbie.

You can preorder the book here. I think it will be a terrific present this Christmas season.

2) Debbie Macomber’s Foreword to The Best Gift

You’re going to love every page of Walt Larimore’s book The Best Gift. And before the last page, you’re going fall in love with this wonderful doctor and his down-home wonderful sense of humor, from “It’s hot enough for our chicken to lay hard-boiled eggs” to his description of life in a small town, “If you don’t know what you’re doing, everyone else does!”His charming tales about the patients who sought his help showcase his gentle spirit and his heart for God.

I promise you will smile when you read about Margie, the hypochondriac he won over with kindness and honesty. Or Leon the widower, who became a lost soul until Dr. Larimore stepped into his life. From one chapter to the next, Walt’s charming tales of a small-town doctor will intrigue and bless you.

He is the physician we all want at our bedside. His caring, loving attitude toward his patients brings back times of yesteryear when medicine wasn’t about the bottom line and government mandates.

I was fortunate to meet Walt several years ago while on a book tour. We were both being interviewed and struck up a conversation. He was warm and sincere, and I never forgot our chance encounter. I am fortunate to call him my friend.

Now sit back and enjoy this wonderful book. Don’t be surprised if you read it in one sitting.

–Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author

4) Cute Halloween Decorations

Last month I told you that I’m doing a daily 2-3 minute feature for Liftable TV, “The Daily Apple: Medical News You Can Use.”

Anyway, the Director of Operations at Liftable, Keeley Brooks’ staff surprised her by decorating her office door using the theme of my show.

The sign says, “THE DAILY APPLE WITH DR. SCARIMORE.” I thought it was cute.

5) Answers to Last Month’s Prayers

  • October 1-2, the production crew from LiftableTV was at our home for two jam-packed days of videotaping eight “Ask Dr. Walt” shows, eight “The Inside Story” episodes, and 45 “Daily Apple” features.
