Shout for joy before the Lord
February 20, 2021I delight greatly in the Lord
February 21, 2021You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as soldiers rejoice when dividing the plunder. … Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. … Evildoers are snared by their own sin, but the righteous shout for joy and are glad. … To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” … Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. … Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
