They will come and shout for joy
February 22, 2021Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer
February 23, 2021When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty. … You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.
Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.
However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. … I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. … I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. … And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Well done, good and faithful servant! … Come and share your master’s happiness!
