Seek Wisdom – 1
April 28, 2020Seek Wisdom – 3
April 29, 2020Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness. … Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun. Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.
Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city. … So I turned my mind to understand, to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the madness of folly.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
Now, Lord my God … give your servant a discerning heart … to distinguish between right and wrong … give me wisdom and knowledge.
The Lord was pleased that (he) had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment … I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart … since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge … therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you.”
