Update on my next book — “The Creed”: A sweet note from the publisher

My next scheduled book to be published in March 2027 is tentatively titled, The Creed: 35 Devotions for Understanding and Living the Authentic Christian Faith.

I received a sweet note from the publisher about my the book:

Dear Mr. Larrimore,

Welcome to the Whitaker House family of authors! I know you have had such a long and fruitful career as a writer, and we are so grateful to work with your latest book on the Nicaean Creed.

I am a history major and have always been interested in the development of the Christian Church. We sometimes do not appreciate all the struggle and thought that was put into the exact wording of these creeds to simplify and synthesize the core tenants of our faith.

In some ways today, the world and faith seem to be more complicated with all of the information available to us, so I very much value your wisdom in this teaching line by line allowing us to really process the core of the Gospel.

There is such wisdom in this creed developed by a faithful Church understanding Scripture and ways to keep this relatable to the lay believer.

I just wanted to send you a note to say thank you for all your work on developing The Creed manuscript and the wonderful foreword you secured from Ruth Graham as well as the great endorsements.

We will be looking to release this book in Spring/Summer 2027 (May-August) so if you can bear with us as we plan for this book we will be working to have all of the publishing details ready by October of this year when we present this book to our internal team to begin presenting to the wider retail world.

I was just reading [chapter] 25 entry on “The Lord, the Giver of Life.” I stand with you in these affirmations:

“Living the Creed: Recognize total dependence. You didn’t create yourself physically or spiritually. Every heartbeat is borrowed. Every breath is grace.”

I can boldly affirm Whitaker House would not be here without God’s grace and provision.

“Expect ongoing transformation. The life-giver doesn’t give life and walk away. He continues working, growing, sanctifying.”

The beauty of Christian books is we always need them as the Christian walk is a journey of continual transformation and sanctification. So thank God for you and the resources to help us on this journey.

“Live in the Spirit’s power. You can’t manufacture spiritual fruit or muster resurrection life. The life-giver supplies what you cannot create.”

Whitaker House has always had a focus on the Holy Spirit, and He is someone we depend on to empower us to walk out this journey.

“Hope in resurrection. Death is not the final word.”

Eternal Amen.

“Honor all life. The Spirit gives life; therefore, every life is sacred—from conception to natural death, in health and disability, in youth and aging.”

I honor your life Walt and all lives that will be touched by these words. Thank God for his breath into our dry bones.

Thank you for walking out this Creed in your own faith and sharing all of this wisdom and teaching with readers.

I am grateful to call you brother in Christ. In Grace and Love,

Christine Whitaker, Publisher

I’ve never received a letter like this from a publisher (and this is my 42nd book). What a pleasant surprise and blessing it was.

The early response to the manuscript among endorsers and beta readers has been tremendously encouraging. I’ll post some of these over the next month or two.

What excites me most is how this book addresses a genuine need in today’s church. Too many believers struggle to articulate what they actually believe, while seekers or deconstructionists often reject distorted versions of Christianity they’ve encountered.

My hope and prayer is that this book will not only ground readers in the historic, biblical faith that has sustained believers for over 1,700 years but will lead them to live the creed in ways that transform both their walk with Jesus and their witness to others.

I believe The Creed represents the kind of substantive, accessible theological work that can serve the church for years to come. At least that’s my prayer.

By the way, if you’re interested in a preview of the content, I’ve posted parts of the book in a devotional, Discovering the Ancient Faith That Anchors Christianity A 47-Day Devotional to the Cross, that is posted for free on the YouVersion app.

Even though only posted for a couple of months, it has already had over 3,500 subscribers from 77 countries (the top 10 are the US, Canada, Australia, UK, South Africa, Nigeria, New Zealand, India, Singapore, and the Philippines).

I hope it’s a blessing for you.
