April 12, 2025YouTube releases a video of my presentation: “The Teenage WWII Hero that Bullets Could Not Stop”
I have just posted a one-hour video documentary about my father’s WWII exploits and heroics titled: “The Teenage WWII Hero that Bullets Could Not Stop: The Forgotten Front and The Youngest Commissioned Officer in WWII.”
I made this presentation at the Medal of Honor Gallery at the Center for American Values on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The documentary-style presentation, “The Teenage WWII Hero that Bullets Could Not Stop,” traces the heroics and exploits of my father, Philip B. Larimore, Jr., the youngest-ever graduate of the Army’s Officer Candidate School; as well as the youngest commissioned officer, the youngest company commander, and one of the most decorated front-line junior officers in the war, through his training and then through 15 months of front-line battles. You can view the presentation here.
I also discuss his top-secret mission to identify and save the world-famous Lipizzaner stallions and to fight the Army’s “inane, insane, and inhumane” policy of discharging all amputee Army officers. Most of the presentation is based upon my award-winning book, At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse. And, if you don’t know about the book, you can learn more about it here.
