November 24, 2024Arrangements were made for the division orchestra to play for our noon meal the next day, Thanksgiving.[1]
Below is the men’s menu at the 3rd General Hospital in Aix en Provence France, the hospital that Dad left on November 20. But it’s likely that the meal in Dad’s hospital was similar. In any event, WAY better than the field MREs the men usually had:
- Tomato Juice Cocktail
- Pineapple Endive Cheese Salad Mayonnaise
- Radishes Pickles
- Roast Turkey
- Dressing
- Giblet Gravy Cranberry Sauce
- Parsley Buttered Potatoes Buttered Peas
- Hot Rolls Butter
- Mincemeat Pie
- Coffee Milk Sugar
- Apples Pears Candy Nuts
