1. How to change your preferences in my blog notices
There’s been some confusion among some of you who receive my blogs. There are actually TWO blogs:
- A. My HEALTH/FAMILY blog, and
- B. My WWII blog.
You have the option to receive email notices about the newest release of one or the other or both. Here’s how you let me know what you desire.
- If you want to continue to receive the notices about the WWII blogs AND the family/health blogs, you don’t have to do a thing.
- But, if you only want to get one or the other, here’s what you need to do. At the bottom of each blog email you receive, look for this new notice:
You may not have seen it. Don’t feel bad. I didn’t notice it either.
- So, if you only want one or the other, then just click on the “Update Your Subscription” tab in the next email you get from me and click on the one you want.
- If you’re only receiving emails about one of the blogs, and want both, then click on the “Update Your Subscription” tab in the next email you get from me and indicate your desire.
You can review my latest blogs in each category by click on one or the other links below.

My column, “Understanding Your Health: Six Questions to Review with Your Family Physician“ is on pages 14-15. Below are links to each of the questions in the article:

5. Last Month’s Happenings
- Oct 5-13, Barb was in Baton Rouge spending time with her sister, extended family, and old friends. For Walt, it was to be a week of fasting!
- Oct 9-13, I found out that my younger brother, Phil’s, oldest boy, Jake, was killed in a terrible auto accident. I went to BTR to join Barb, to support Phil and his family, and to attend Jake’s Celebration of Life. It was a terribly sad time for all involved, including us.
- Oct 22-29, after a week home to rest and recover, we traveled to one of our favorite American cities, Chicago, for a meeting with the CRU Inner City ministry, as well as enjoying some of our favorite sites (like the Lincoln Park Zoo), a new attraction (Fly Over Chicago), and several of our old favorite restaurants. The weather, food, and fellowship were all wonderful.
