Ask Dr. Walt 40 – A family plan for spiritual growth

Most parents who value Christian faith want their children to enjoy a vibrant, growing relationship with God, both now and throughout their lives. But did you know fewer than ten percent of Christian families engage with one another for the purpose of encouraging or informing their growing faith? And not even one percent can show a written plan that even briefly describes the spiritual direction they are praying for and working toward together. We’ll address that tragedy on today’s episode of Ask Dr. Walt.

From 2021-2022, I was honored to host a TV show on LiftableTV, “Ask Dr. Walt.”

OPEN:

Hi, everyone. I’m family physician Dr. Walt Larimore and I’m delighted you are taking the time today to join me in my home office for this episode of Ask Dr. Walt. As long-time viewers know, I emphasize what I call “the four wheels of health”—your and your family’s physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual health. Today I want to camp on spiritual health.

Can you imagine a generation of your family who knows God with intimate familiarity? Do you pray for kids who can tell you what they believe and why it matters? Teenagers who handle adversity with the resilient joy of Godly wisdom. Our guest today is here to help us with this.

I’m delighted to introduce you to Terence Chatmon who has served as a successful senior executive with several Fortune 500 companies. He was challenged by his wife to chart a course for the spiritual growth of his family and children. After much prayer, he took what he knew from his corporate-world success and biblical teaching to develop one of the world’s most transformational step-by-step family spiritual development processes. Terence is now a family legacy champion and his family discipleship workshop, Charting Your Family’s Spiritual Course, has reached more than one hundred thousand participating families and continues to grow. Terence, welcome to Ask Dr. Walt.
