Two Events in Baton Rouge this week honoring my Dad and the book about him

Barb and I are flying to our hometown of Baton Rouge today for two events that will honor my father and his WWII heroics

1) An Exhibit Opening at the William A. Brookshire LSU Military Museum on Thursday evening, October 26
Here are the details:
  • Thursday, October 26, The museum, located in the LSU Memorial Tower
  • 5:00 – 6:15 PM, reception and tour the new exhibit honoring MAJ. Philip B. Larimore, Jr..
  • Bring your copies of At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse. for me to sign. They will not have books for sale.
  • 630 – 730 PM, presentation with Q&A, Coates Hall, LSU
  • The events are free, but to ensure enough seats and enough books, please RSVP to either:
    • 225-334-2003 or
    • milmuseum@lsu.edu

2) The Louisiana Book Festival in Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 28

Dad’s book, At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse, will be featured at the Louisiana Book Festival at the Capital Complex on Saturday, October 28. Here’s where you can find me:

  • 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm, State Library, Fourth Floor, Presentation with Q&A on the topic of “My Father, My Hero: War Stories from WWII,” with Janis Pardue Hill and myself
  • 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm, Book Signing, Cavalier House Books Tent
  • If you have time to drop by either event, I’d love to see you there.
