1) Public Relations Campaign for Veteran’s Day
Ascot Media has taken over the PR work for my WWII book, At First Light, leading up to Veteran’s Day. In the first 16 days of their campaign, they’ve been quite successful. I’ve already completed three interviews that you may find interesting.
Here’s the latest from Ascot: There are 8 positive “hits” in the last 16 days (the top three are completed and five are pending). There are another 12 “hits” pending scheduling (including inquiries from NPR, CBS, a Los Angeles TV station, and the Boston Globe).

2) Readers Love At First Light
In addition, I’m delighted that the book has received over 96% 5-star ratings on Amazon (96 ratings), Barnes & Noble(41), GoodReads (60), Walmart (37), and Target (33).
Quite a number of reviewers comment that it’s the best or one of the best WWII books that they’ve ever read, and quite a few say they think it should be made into a movie.
From their lips to God’s ears, as the old saying goes. If you haven’t read it, I hope you will. And if you have, I hope you’ll leave a 5-star review on Amazon, B&N, and GoodReads. Thanks.

3) Last Month’s Happenings
- We continued to direct the ReEngage Marriage Ministry at Academy Christian Church this month. It’s such a blessing for us.
- Oct 13-18, Barb and I had a wonderful few days of R&R at Pensacola Beach. We’ve gone every summer for most of our lives. We had perfect weather, loved looking for shells and getting our toes in the sand, and had quality time with Barb’s sister, Sue, her brother Greg and his wife Jackie. Just what the doctor ordered!
- Oct 20, Barb and I were in Cody, Wyoming, where I spoke at the annual fundraising banquet for the Serenity Pregnancy Resource Center. We absolutely love serving these wonderful centers. It was a fabulous event.
- Oct 21, I was honored to share with a group of Christian healthcare professionals on “How to Bring Your Faith to Work With You in Healthcare.” We had a great time with this group. We also spent some time touring three of the five amazing museums at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. If you’re ever in Cody, don’t miss this special place.
- Oct 22, Barb and I led a two-hour marriage seminar, “How to Have a Crazy Good Marriage,” for Pastor Tim Morrow and his congregation at New Life Church in Powell, Wyoming. There was a lot of laughter and more than a few “Ah ha’s,” “Oh, my’s” and “Dear me’s”! It was a joy for us. Then we caught an afternoon plane home and made it out of Cody just as their first blizzard was blowing in.
4) Upcoming Events
