They triumphed … by the blood of the Lamb
July 28, 2021Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on
July 29, 2021There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. … He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end. … People of Zion, you will weep no more. … No one living in Zion will say, “I am ill”; and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven. … I will rejoice … and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more. … And those the LORD has rescued will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
The last enemy to be destroyed is death. … I will deliver this people from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction? I will have no compassion.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? … So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
