Do not become corrupt
July 14, 2021Save yourselves from this corrupt generation
July 15, 2021Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. … The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. … They who give to the poor will lack nothing, but they who close their eyes to them receives many curses.
Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. … They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor.
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow”— when you now have it with you.
If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
“Suppose there is a righteous man who does what is just and right. … He does not oppress anyone … but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked. … He follows my decrees and faithfully keeps my laws. That man is righteous; he will surely live,” declares the Sovereign LORD.
