And you will know that I am the LORD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you. … We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.

I gave them my decrees and made known to them my laws, by which the person who obeys them will live. … I am the LORD your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. … Suppose there is a righteous man who does what is just and right. … He follows my decrees and faithfully keeps my laws. That man is righteous; he will surely live,” declares the Sovereign LORD.

“This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel … I will put my laws in their minds    and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. … This is the covenant I will make with them,” says the Lord. “I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds. … And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” … I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
