Give us today our daily bread
May 8, 2021As we also have forgiven our debtors
May 9, 2021Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake. … Who can forgive sins but God alone?
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” This is what the LORD says, … “I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. … For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. … So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
