The law made nothing perfect, and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. … We have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. … And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. … Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade … Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect … Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer … Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. … May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
