The Lord, My Help
December 9, 2020The Lord, My Strength
December 10, 2020You are my portion, O LORD.
All things are yours; … And you are of Christ; and Christ is of God. … Our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. … God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church. … Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
I will glory in the LORD. … I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. … You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing. … LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. … What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowingChrist Jesus my Lord.

I enjoy these daily devotions very much. This is a wonderful thing you are doing.
With love, Elizabeth
It’s not me, Elizabeth. It’s God’s word illuminated by His Spirit and chewed and meditated upon by His servant (you!). Take out any of these critical elements and the whole thing creaks to a rapid halt. May you continue to be blessed and illuminated by His Word and Spirit as He continues to bear much fruit in and through you.
And, I do hope you’ll help spread the word about “Morning Glory, Evening Grace” to your friends, family, and faith community.
