The Lord, My Strength
December 10, 2020Joy in the Morning
December 11, 2020On what are you basing your confidence?
You have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. … The LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared. … Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. … The fruit of righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. … I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
We have confidence in the Lord. … Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. … In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. … So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? … The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? … So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” … Such confidence we have through Christ before God. … We have confidence before God.
