November 20, 2020You are always righteous, Lord, when I bring a case before you. Yet I would speak with you about your justice.
Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease? … How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? … The law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. … They make ready their tongue like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth that they triumph in the land. They go from one sin to another.
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. … When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. … Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. … Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
“It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. … Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Her sins are piled up to heaven, God has remembered her crimes.” … For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.” … The Lord has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the Lord our God has done.

It helps to know the Outcome. Finally Justice, covered by Mercy.
