Birth of a Child
November 3, 2020Youth
November 4, 2020Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew) you, before you were born I set you apart. … For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. … Your hands made me and formed me. … Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham, at the very time God had promised him. … Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. … When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness.” … Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. … I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
