Illness
November 12, 2020Recovery from Illness
November 13, 2020I prayed, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.
When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. … I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. … I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. … Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. … God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone. … I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. … The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. … Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me. … Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me.
Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. … God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! … I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you. … My heart rejoices in the Lord; for I delight in your deliverance. … In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

I so appreciate my daily Morning Glory and Evening Grace readings, Dr. Walt. Thank you.
May I suggest something that could improve the experience? Having the reference right behind each verse or passage would really help. There are many times when I want to know where I can find it in my Bible, and unless it’s a well-known verse, I have to count and then match it up to the right reference in the bottom of the daily reading. Do you know what I mean? This would probably be an enormous undertaking, but perhaps it’s something to think about in the future? God’s blessings.
Your friend Margot
Hey Margot,
Thanks for the kind words and the suggestion. And, it would be a huge undertaking for which I simply to not have the time at the present. In addition, the approach that I use is recommended by the Institute for Bible Reading, the organization that organizes and distributes the Immerse Bible Reading versions of the Bible. But, if my writing time opens up (right now I’m hard at work on three book deadlines), I think that there may be an in-between option, and that would be to hyperlink each verse to one of the online Bibles. And, perhaps, I can find volunteers who might be willing to help!!! Love to you both. Stay safe and I hope you and yours have a Christ-centered, warm-memory-creating, family filled Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
