Anger

Refrain from anger. … Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming. … Stirring up anger produces strife.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. … I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, “Raca,” is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, “You fool!” will be in danger of the fire of hell. … In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

(Love) does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs…. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. … Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. … A quick-tempered person does foolish things.

You must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language. … Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. … I want the people everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.

But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. … The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
