Fasting – 2
August 15, 2020Good Character – 2
August 16, 2020A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. … A good name is better than fine perfume.
There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. … In whom there is nothing false. … Who hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. … Be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another. … Righteous and devout. … Gentle. … Merciful. … They whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. … They who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways. … A people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
