Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. … Obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. … For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.

If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
