Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free … But the Lord is righteous; he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.
Praise the Lord. … He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.
Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. … Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Christ Jesus our Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.
