To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
Do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman. … Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. … Mortals, who are vile and corrupt, who drink up evil like water! … These people … continue their corrupt practices.
He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
“I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock. How then did you turn against me into a corrupt, wild vine? Although you wash yourself with soda and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me,” declares the Sovereign LORD.
If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.
When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus … You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds.
