Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
In Christ Jesus our Lord … and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. … Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. … For through him we … have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings. … Come near to God and he will come near to you. … And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. … Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
