May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in obedience to him and keep the commands, decrees and laws he gave our ancestors.
You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good. You made known to them your holy Sabbath and gave them commands, decrees and laws through your servant Moses.
He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD. … He commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their ancestors, and to obey his laws and commands. … Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws.
In his pride the wicked man does not seek (the LORD); in all his thoughts there is no room for God … your laws are rejected by him. … But to the wicked person, God says: “What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you.”
All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees. … Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.
