Leap Day – Jubilee Year
February 29, 2020The Fruit of the Spirit is … Patience – 2
March 1, 2020The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. … Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.
A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. … Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. … But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. … Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. … Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
