We Have Been Saved

To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.  … The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,  so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

For in this hope we were saved.

Thank you for organizing these devotions. There is always amazing encouragement in the themes. The scripture gives life, for it is the very Word of our LORD.
In this reading: I have often wondered if the praise from Titus in this reading is a reflection of the prayer of Daniel from chapter 7 of his book.
    Blessings, Bill
