Fruit
February 15, 2020The Fruit of the Spirit is … Love – 2
February 16, 2020Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
The foreigners residing among you must be treated as your native-born. … Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like a mighty flame.
… love your neighbor as yourself.
Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.
And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
