Older Women

(Treat) older women as mothers … with absolute purity.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.

Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone … Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come … Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness … gray hair the splendor of the old … Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

She was very old … and then had been a widow … She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

    Sweet Walter and Barb,
Not being your “actual” mother, you have always treated me with the love and respect due one. Thank you for that. Nevertheless, if you were my “actual” adult children, I couldn’t be more proud of you than I am at this very moment. Your love, loyalty, encouragement, and kindness through the years has meant so much more than can be expressed in this short comment. So I will simply have to say, THANK YOU and THANK YOU again!

Barb and I sit on your and Donald’s shoulder and try diligently to fill the mighty, mighty big footsteps of the holy example you both have set.

We love and appreciate you more than we could ever say.

Thank you and THANK YOU BOTH, again and again, for being our spiritual Mother and Father. Love you BIG!!!

      Walt
