His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation

From everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children. … Showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues you keep them safe in your dwelling. … Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. … Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. … The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before the Lord—and because you tore your robes and wept in my presence, I also have heard you, declares the LORD. … These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word. … The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
