I am being threatened; Lord, come to my aid!
November 19, 2019I know that you have little strength
November 20, 2019Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease? … How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? … The law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. … They make ready their tongue like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth that they triumph in the land. They go from one sin to another.
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. … When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. … Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. … Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
“It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. … Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Her sins are piled up to heaven, God has remembered her crimes.” … For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.” … The Lord has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the Lord our God has done.
