We were reconciled to him through the death of his Son

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Esau held a grudge against Jacob. He said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.” … Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming. … Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept. … Said Jacob, “To see your face is like seeing the face of God, now that you have received me favorably.”

His brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt. … Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. … Then he kissed all his brothers and wept over them. Afterward his brothers talked with him.

Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. … All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
