Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” … The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man. … Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. … Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love. … May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. … Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. … Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
