He drove the man out

November 18, 2019My soul glorifies the Lord. … For the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name. … He has lifted up the humble. … He has helped his servant.
Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. … Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. … Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth. … Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. … It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. … Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.
This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord.” … May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
