Normalizing blood pressure in middle age reduces lifetime risk for heart disease, stroke

HealthDay reports, “Blood pressure changes in middle age can affect your lifetime risk for heart disease and stroke,” according to a study published in Circulation.
WebMD reports that investigators looked at information “from seven studies involving more than 61,000 people.”
MedPage Today reports, “Those who maintained normal blood pressure or achieved normal readings through middle age had a lower remaining lifetime risk of cardiovascular disease (22% to 41%) compared with those who had or developed hypertension (42% to 69%).”
If you’ve not checked your blood pressure recently, I hope this will encourage you to do so. Both you, and those you love.
