Cranberry juice reduces recurrent UTIs in children

Reuters reports for children who have been treated for a urinary tract infection (UTI), drinking cranberry juice every day may reduce the number of recurrent infections. This is based upon a study published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.
Among 255 children, those who drank cranberry juice had a total of 27 infections and averaged 12 days per year taking antibiotics.
However, for those youngsters not drinking juice, there were 47 infections, and the children averaged 18 days taking antibiotics.
