November 16, 2011USA Today reported that according to a study published in the journal Pediatrics, television may be turning “children into fountains of four-letter words.”The study found an association “between foul-mouthed inner-city children and profanity-ridden shows and video games.”
After surveying “223 adolescents (87 boys and 135 girls) in an inner-city middle school in the Midwest” on their television and video game preferences, researchers discovered that youngsters “who watched TV shows and played video games with more profanity were more likely to use such language.”
