McCain “Trounces Obama” At Saddleback
August 20, 2008Obama Caught Red-Handed in Abortion Lie
August 20, 2008Gary Bauer says, “Senator Barack Obama may be the most extreme pro-abortion candidate ever nominated for president of the United States by a major political party.” How extreme? When Pastor Rick Warren asked Obama at this weekend’s Saddleback forum, “Have you EVER voted to limit or reduce abortions,” Obama used 200 words of fluffy rhetoric to hide his real answer –- “No!”
My Take?
Bauer adds, “Think about that. Not once has he ever voted to limit the daily destruction of thousands of innocent lives. In fact, Barack Obama even opposed efforts to stop infanticide – the killing of babies born alive after having survived botched abortions!
When Obama was a state senator in Illinois, a bill was introduced to require doctors to take all appropriate steps to save those babies born alive. Obama voted to kill the proposed law. As late as this past weekend, Obama said that pro-life advocates who have exposed his radical record were lying. But this week his own campaign was forced to admit it was Obama who had the facts wrong.
Last year, Senator Obama told the Planned Parenthood Action Fund that he supported another proposed law called the Freedom of Choice Act. That legislation would overturn all current restrictions on abortion, including the federal ban on partial-birth abortions and all state restrictions, such as parental notification laws and waiting periods. It would also force taxpayers to pay for any abortion that a woman couldn’t afford on her own.
Bauer points out, “Moreover, Obama was dishonest when he told Pastor Warren that he favors limits on late term abortions, as long as there is an exception for the mother’s ‘health’.”
The “exception” Obama favors includes mental health, which means that it wouldn’t stop any late term abortions. All the abortionist has to do is claim that the woman getting the abortion would be depressed as a result of giving birth.
By the way, did you notice that when naming justices he would never appoint, Obama named only the pro-life justices on the Supreme Court?
Bauer concludes, “The bottom line is clear: Barack Obama is a pro-abortion extremist. His election as president would END any chance of restoring legal protection to unborn children in the next 30 years and probably much longer.
“Any pro-life voter who acts as if there is no difference between John McCain – who has a pro-life voting record and promised his administration would have pro-life policies – and Barack Obama needs to do a reality check.”
My friend, Tony Perkins, writes, “The act of killing a just-born child was considered so heinous that the federal bill, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, was supported by pro-abortion Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and unopposed by NARAL, the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League.
“Senator Obama’s position in the Illinois senate was to oppose any legislation that would protect such innocent life. Everyone else was clear that the bill addressed infanticide not abortion.”
